DHI Technique
Hair Transplantation
In the DHI method, extracted grafts are implanted directly into the treated area. In this method, a tool called a “Choi pen” is used so that there is no need to pre-open channels in the recipient region. Once the hair is placed into the pen, it is directly implanted into that area. In this way, since the channels are opened exactly in the size of the graft, there is less transplantation trace and bleeding, and recovery is faster.
Stages of DHI Hair Transplantation
Extraction of grafts from the donor region
In this phase, using a specific tool called a “micro motor,” hairs that are less than 1 mm in diameter are removed from the scalp and collected. Arrangement: grafts are carefully placed into pens which contain corresponding channels.
Transplantation of the grafts
The grafts are placed in a Choi pen and directly transplanted into the recipient area, without previously opening small channels. The hairs grow in a natural direction and recovery is easier. The DHI method is suitable for patients who have a smaller surface area to be transplanted, as well as for patients who are doing a touch-up, given that the maximum number that can be taken in one day is 2000 grafts.
